How will she help all the people around her while she tries to finally do something with her life? And what the heck is she doing on stage at a comedy club?
Full of quick wit and rowdy humor, Anna Pescardot weaves a tale any woman can relate to. With male characters so wonderful, so attractive, they must be fiction. But you'll be rooting for them all!
In the beginning I was worried about the "Britishness" of the novel. I was afraid there were be references that I didn't understand or slang terms that would be lost on my American ears, but it was never a problem. This romantic comedy spans the pond and holds its own very well!

Nicole is looking for love. She is tired of being the bridesmaid and watching her friends find happiness and love when she is unable to fulfil her lifetime dream of having a home and a family. Patty is her childhood friend who is loving and supportive but, alas, also engaged. Facing another wedding as the bridesmaid Nicole is depressed and ready to give up. Luckily for Nicole, Patty won't give up on her and they do a little pretend magic that waorks. Now there are men interested in Nicole but she finds herself unsure if the attention she is now getting is real or imagined.

Billed as a romantic comedy with scarcasm and wit, I found it only slightly amusing at times. Nicole seemed desperate and Patty appeared lacking in basic intellegence. So many scenes revolved around getting so inebriated and sick that they became tedious and redundent. Drunk people are rarely funny and a sick drunk even less so.

I rate this 3 stars for some of the cute dialog between Nicole and Patty but it's not something I would want to read again.

I just finished reading "Always The Bridesmaid" and while I think some of the situations that Nicole got herself in were funny (mostly due to her alcohol intake), I found myself disgusted at just how desperate she was to land a man and what she was willing to put up with to have him. I realize the book is labeled a "Romantic Comedy", but I found Nicole more pathetic than anything. It did have a nice ending but took way too long getting to it!
