fresh take on an old favorite

i bought this book for my nephew because i was totally enamored with the unique way the alphabet is portrayed. the author used silk-screened posters he made and then wheat-pasted onto the streets of new yorks to illustrate the alphabet. not only that, but the examples used are different as well, no "a is for apple." the posters he made are beautiful and graphic, the photos are lovely, the book is large and opens top to bottom, and it just as fun for adults as it is for kids. even if your favorite baby isn't a city kid, this book will delight them.

i bought 2 copies of this book after i bought the first copy and gave them out to my friends with little kids...this book has a non traditional way to teach kids their abc's and teaches them to appreciate their local artists' additions to urban scenery

Love the book! It's great to see fun, urban versions of the alphabets. I don't think my son cares much for it one way or another and it's probably a little harder for him to understand the images or even to "get "the cool graffiti factor, but it's a nice book to have on the shelf anyway.
