Horrible waste of time. Obviously his friends have written the other reviews, since this "book" is just the repetition of the first paragraph - If you can balance your ph levels you'll feel balanced. So he babbles this for 40 pages, lists every food group as what not to eat - then lists 22 individual foods you should eat ( actually only 21 since he listed green beans twice) and then spends 30 more pages telling you to balance yourself. Then he gives you recipes - which are in metric and not worth my time to convert them. Also, most of the recipes have quinoa in them. The good news? I was able to rent this with my prime membership and it didn't actually cost me anything. If you buy/rent this anyway, please send me a nickle for every time he uses the word "balances" - I'll be rich before I know it :)

I'm a big believer in you are what you eat and it's one of the reasons I downloaded this book as I was curious to know more about how acid builds up in the body and can cause disease. This book is very thorough and covers everything you would need to know about how an alkaline state is the ideal pH for the body if you want to avoid chronic health issues.

Animal products are best avoided on the alkaline diet as they are acid forming foods but it may be surprising to learn that there are also many acidifying fruits and vegetables. This doesn't mean you can't have them of course, just that you might want to watch them and have them occasionally if you are going to follow the Alkaline Diet on a long term basis. This is a highly recommended read, especially as so many people have an acidic pH these days, due to eating processed junk foods, etc.

Since I am a strong believer and practitioner of alkalinity, I was very curious to find out Darrin's opinion on the Alkaline Diet.The book has totally met my expectations: the information is nicely explained and Darrin clearly understands the importance of a balanced diet. Many people get started on their alkaline programs but they choose only alkaline foods and end up giving up in the end. This book is more about balance and long-term success. The recipes were a nice addition to this book!

I buy a lot of cookbooks and healthy books. I do actually read them and am one of those people who tries most of the recipes. I'm always looking for new foods to cook and new ideas for meals that are healthy. Alkaline is a concept new to me and this book was a great introduction for me. I highly recommend if you want to know more about an alkaline diet.
