Starting with basic HTML, including simple tasks like displaying text and putting it in tables, the book describes the key components of Web sites and the way in which GoLive 4.0 can help you build them. In the "Classroom in a book" I found that the steps were easy enough to follow and the examples were interesting, but I would have liked more help in the overall preparation of creating a Web site. While I was able to follow the directions simply, as all the files were there, I felt that it wouldn't translate as easily when I began my site, since I was starting from scratch & wouldn't have the luxury of pre-prepared graphics, text and design. This book is a tutorial, so it lacks the inspiration and advice that another sort of book would offer. For Web design I prefer something more conversational.

For learning the basics of GoLive, this book is a good start. The lessons are clear and relatively easy to follow. I personally would like the book to be much more in depth, as there are many features of the program that are not covered. GoLive is a complex program with great capabilities and this book is only a cursory introduction to it. Other Classroom in a Book tutorials I have used were more thorough so hopefully this book will evolve with the succeeding versions of GoLive.

For the beginner this is a very useful book. I understood it completely with no problems. As far as the Win and Mac displays go, I had no problem with this. The book made a lot of sense. The only problem I did have was saving the files as directed. You have to change the files from read only in order to save. I would recommend it to any one that is new to GoLive.

Adobe why waste your time?
I wanted to get a quick start but was disappointed.Adobe try to combined two books into one(Macintosh and Windows).Save some grief and your money do not buy this book.

Only so-so
