A Taste of Sin [Kindle Edition]

When Lady Christie Macdonald was forced to marry St. John Thornton when she was seven and he fourteen. Neither wanted to marry the other but this marriage had been forced upon them by the English King. Christie a Scottish noblewoman and heir to her grandfather, would be Laird upon his death. But the King required the marriage to ensure that an Englishman would have authority over the clans.

After the day of their marriage St. John Thornton returned to his life in London. Christie did not see her husband again. It was fifteen years since their marriage, and her husbands reputation had spread even as far as Scotland, Lord Sin as he was now known, due to his fondness for the ladies. But as he was already married none could trap him into matrimony, a fact which suited Lord Sin very well.

Christie's grandfather had died leaving her as laird, but recently leaders of some of the clans were dissatisfied with their absent English master, and were badgering Christie to go to London to get an annulment to her marriage, which had never been consummated. In particular Calum Cameron who wanted Christie for himself. But Christie did not want another husband, she didn't even want the one she already had. So she hatched a plan. To avoid another marriage, and making sure her husband Lord Sin stayed where he was enjoying the delights of London. Leaving her free to live her life without a mans interference.

This was an okay read, it was not CM at her best, the plot was far too predictable. The story started well and I thought I was in for a real treat. But then it seemd to run out of steam, with one misunderstanding after another, which just made the story drag a little. As usual there were plenty of love scenes. Unfortunately this didn't help the flagging plot. Plus i was surprised to find that there were quite a few errors with misspelled words. Three star read for me.

I have always loved Connie mason and all of her work but this book, I feel, is one of the top ranking book I have ever read! I cried, loved, and felt like I was there with sinjun & Christy!

Great page-turner! I couldn't help peeking ahead to see what would happen next. Romantic, erotic, full of plot twists and turns.
