Abgesehen von dieser Tatsache ist das Buch gut aufbereitet. Nur wenig sprachliche Mängel. Kurze und kompakte Darstellung der einzelnen "Tipps".
- Bitte nicht von der Bewertung beeinflussen lassen. Solche Bewertungen sind sehr subjektiv, deshalb kurz etwas zu mir:
Ich beschäftige mich schon sehr lange mit Social Media Marketing und kenne dementsprechend viele Kniffe. "500 Tips" erschienen mir viel, deshalb habe ich mich für den Kauf entschieden :)

"Warum bin ich da nicht selbst drauf gekommen?" "Ach so geht das!" "Da habe ich ja noch Einiges zu tun..." "Endlich beantwortet mal jemand alle Fragen, die ich niemandem stellen konnte, weil ich nicht wusste, dass ich sie hatte!"

Das Buch ist praktischerweise in die verschiedenen Plattformen unterteilt, so dass man zielgerichtet nachlesen kann.

Was das Buch leistet: Es gibt Marketing Tipps für jede gängige Plattform, die mehr Besucher, mehr Fans, mehr Interaktion, mehr Business nach sich ziehen. Wenn man nach diesem Leitfaden vorgeht und seine Accounts optimiert und seine Kommunikation plant, wird man mit Sicherheit auch mehr Kontakte und Geschäftsoptionen haben.

Was der Autor leistet: Das Buch ist klar verständlich, kein Fachchinesisch. Man merkt: Da weiß jemand, wovon er spricht. Dazu gibt es 100plus Videos, die Einzelaspekte aus dem Buch erklären, auf youtube. Und: lebenslange Auffrischung des Contents, wenn sich auf den Plattformen etwas verändert. DAS nenne ich mal kundenfreundlich.

This is an outstanding book. Worth 10x the price paid.

Please disregard the reviews that say this is for "newbies" or "I already knew most of the stuff in the book"... Nonsense--I disagree wholeheartedly with these statements.

Not only are the tips very in-depth and meaty, but you can digest them quickly.
Sure, out of 500, you're going to know some of them if you've stepped foot in the social media ring at all, but I'll bet at least 70-80% of them you won't know, or hadn't thought of. The only way someone would know most of these is if they had written a book themselves.

I'm pretty social media savvy, not an expert but not a novice, and most of the stuff in this book I hadn't thought of or didn't know. There's stuff in here about YouTube & Facebook you would NEVER figure out without someone telling you, as well as the other networks. Its a huge value-add for me.

Here's the really good thing - if you're an Attention Deficit Disorder Biz Owner (like me) with tons to do and a distraction around every corner, this is the book for you. You can pick it up and in 30 seconds read a few tips. Unlike other books, you don't have to even finish a chapter or 5 pages straight to get something out of it. So for people with very little time and lots on their mind but need a kick in the pants to get moving, this is a must-have.

I've started taking notes in the back of the book, and in the margins in each chapter I've written a "Done?" check-box so I can check off each applicable tip as I've implemented it. Some are very simple, you can implement the tip in 30 seconds, others (like making an online vid or upgrading your profile) will take longer... but almost every tip I've read has been pure gold.

The best online marketing book I have bought in a long time.

UPDATE 12/14/13:
Still my favorite marketing media book and am still getting things out of it. Regretfully I don't have the full time hours to delve completely into every chapter and implement the hundreds of suggestions, but I have done at least 15-20 or so and all were worthwhile and made a difference. And, as I mentioned before, many of these were obscure technical tweaks that I could NEVER FIGURE OUT on my own without a how-to book like this. Example is some of the Facebook & YouTube tweaks with little features you didn't know were there.
Can't recommend this book enough.
The best part about it is you can just pick it up and read a page or two and get something out of it without having to take in a whole chapter. I receive no accolades or anything from the author, just honestly stumbled upon this book on Amazon as you did, and am telling you to pick this one up--it's a winner.

I have to disagree with the review that said this book was mainly for newbies. I've been working with blogs, websites and social media on a professional level for years and read any and every book on the subjects and still found this guide to be extremely helpful. I initially borrowed the book with my Prime membership to just take a skim through, but purchased it right after I finished reading it this week.

I think this book will benefit anyone from new and seasoned site owners, niche bloggers, company managers and more. You can take the information laid out and tweak to fit your individual business and customize the tips and strategies to help your specific goals.

It stresses to site/business owners how important social media is to help their business thrive and lays out specific ways to make that happen! It also gives them a realistic estimate of how much time it can take to successfully engage an audience through the dozens of social media platforms. The book gives detailed guidance through each platform. It doesn't go above a newbie's head, yet doesn't bore an experienced professional.

I'd recommend this book to anyone as a valuable resource on the subject - no matter what their level of knowledge with social media marketing.

If you have no clue about this subject this book will be a big time saver for you, If you are already involved in social media business, you probably know most of these tips however paying 2.99 is a bargin even for few tips which I didn't know before.

I grabbed this for summer reading, looking for more ideas for social media marketing, and this book was a worthwhile read.
You don't read this in order, you jump around reading, digesting and trying the ideas. Yes, some are simple and obvious, others clever and you would need to drill deep to find them on your own, but taken all together, this book provides a great resource for SMM, from those getting started to the experienced online marketer looking for more.
It is written in easy, business style with a lot of actionable items.
I bought the paperback book, I wanted it for beach and boat reading, places I don't want my iPad or Kindle to be. Paperback gives you that portability, tabbing pages and notes in the margin. I think the digital book would work better, there are a lot of links that I could click through on with the digital book. And Mr. McCarthy offers free updates to the book every month online, forever! Paperback updates quarterly.
This book has so many good tips, I am thinking of adopting it for my marketing courses- the price point, the updates, the info, the updated info- it is better, more relevant, and updated than anything the big text book publishers could deliver.

I love this book. It contains detailed, relevant, actionable information that is intelligently presented on all aspects of social media marketing. I've already incorporated more than a dozen of the tips into my own marketing program to support the launch of my book A Plan for Life: The 21st Century Guide to Success in Health, Wealth, Career, Education, Love, Place...and You! I especially like that as of the beginning of 2014, this book is about as up-to-date as you can get in the fast-changing world of social media and the Internet. I'm going to be on the lookout for more work from Andrew Macarthy.
