Kurzbeschreibung

From the NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY bestselling author, Addison Moore:

Romantic Comedy

Cosmopolitan Magazine calls Addison’s books…easy, frothy fun! 3:AM Kisses ~First base never felt so good!~

3:AM Kisses is a USA Today Bestseller!

Baya Brighton is looking forward to her first year at Whitney Briggs University, new friends, dorm life, and finally being close to her brother again. Love is the last thing on the list, but when Baya meets her brother’s roommate she begins to have thoughts and feelings that make even her blush.

Bryson Edwards has a secret he prefers buried in the past and long forgotten. He keeps himself busy with the important things, loose girls, fast cars, and long nights working at the string of bars his family owns. When his roommate’s sister shows up on the scene, she’s far too innocent and sweet for him but he can’t shake Baya out of his mind and worse, it looks like she’s seeping into his heart as well.

Baya seems determined to show her brother she’s not a little kid and equally determined to use Bryson’s body to prove her point. It’s been made pretty clear that Baya is off limits to Bryson but their undeniable sparks explode into a whole lot more than just a few 3:AM KISSES.

2.0 von 5 Sternen von Klischee zu Klischee!! 9. November 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf

5.0 von 5 Sternen How can you not love it? 13. Oktober 2013
Von Anelava
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
I am a big fan of Addison Moore's writing style. She just has this absolutely awesome way with words. When I read her books, I am completely submerged in the story. Though I can describe her style as a flowery one, at the same time it's light and pleasant to read.

3:AM Kisses is a hilarious and highly entertaining book. Baya is a good girl who has to follow the rules established be her older brother, but hopes to get out of her shell in college. She does it at the very first page and in a completely extraordinary way. At the same she meets a hot gorgeous guy, Bryson, who is her brother's roommate. After getting acquainted with her own roommate, who pursues some very interesting extracurricular activities, which will have a deep impact on Baya's life, Baya decides to visit her good boy of brother. But apparently Cole is not as good as his sister thinks. Notches on the door show off his (and Bryson's) not very academic success in college. But in Baya's regard, Cole is as overprotective as he has been. He treats her as a 13-year-old and would like her to spend her free time learning or reading. Well, thankfully, Baya has some other ideas.

Since meeting Bryson for the first time, Baya can't get him out of her mind. She feels attracted to him and with time decides to go "bad girl" on him. The only problem Baya is a virgin and Cole's sister, and no matter how hot and sexy and amazing Bryson finds her, he won't go for it. His past won't let him and Cole will kill him. But Baya, despite of her inexperience, is stubborn and isn't going to give up. She tries several (partly questionable -why are you doing this to yourself, girl? *covering my eyes*- but still very hilarious) tactics and manages to get her very first kiss.

2.0 von 5 Sternen I hate to write a bad review..... 1. Oktober 2013
Von I read way too much - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
I truly hate to write a bad review! I understand the incredible work it takes to write a novel. It's basically the author's baby - then some nobody comes along and blasts it. But I just gotta throw out my opinion! This is not my first, nor my last book by this author. She really has talent. Her writing flows wonderfully. My problem was totally with the characters in this one. When I read, it's my form of escape. I want to be absorbed in the story and become the characters - especially the leading lady if romance is what I am in the mood for. I did not want to be Baya ! (Watch out for spoilers) at first, I liked our leading lady. She was button cute and her snarky attitude was hilarious. What happened? I became increasingly embarrassed for her! It just became too much and I couldn't finish the book! Example 1 - she cries and begs Bryson to kiss her?!? Seriously ? I get that he was "holding himself " back from her and all that but I don't want to be that girl that Baya was. Example 2 - Bryson continues to sleep around (gross) she walks in and a slutty girl leaves his room half naked - he comes out, touches her - he smells like "sex" (eww ) and is sweaty - the girl smashes her to him kissing him goodbye and she wants him in that moment? Example 3 - the fake eyelash scene! Bryson has another girl hanging all over him and Baya tries to dress to entice him? She just keeps throwing herself at him! I don't want to be Baya therefore I did not finish the book. I want a heroine that thinks a little more of herself than that!

1.0 von 5 Sternen Can't recommend it 23. September 2013
Von Valerie StuckInBooks - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
So I don't do this very often - give one star with no recommendation. I just couldn't find much to like about this one.

Baya is nineteen but if she didn't tell me, I'd have thought her brothers assessment of 13 was closer to the mark. She's innocent and naive and I could accept that but she thinks in ridiculous sexual innuendo. Her reference to her "girl parts" was frequent and colorful. She named her roommates boobs! She so did. Thing one and thing two, in case you were wondering.

She starts out holding her own against the bad boy, Bryson but before long she's throwing herself at him and asking for kisses. I just couldn't deal with it.

Speaking of dealing with things, Baya's brother Cole was really hard to deal with. He has a line of different girls in his bed on a daily if not hourly basis. I'm trying to figure out how these girls that line up for his bed have any self respect at all.

Then there's the roommate with the aforementioned named boobs. Baya "meets" her by walking in on one of her escapades. As a matter of fact, she only seems to see her in this vertical position with thing one and thing two flying. I just couldn't see it - or didn't want to see it.

Bryson. I wanted to like him. I think I may have, a little. He tries to make good choices even though he was just as bad as his roommate Cole before Baya showed up. I did like that he admitted his feeling for Baya and was very concerned for her.

The thing is that this is a fast read. I read it in an afternoon. I'm not sure if it was because I was hoping it would get better or if I was skimming after about 30%. I just can't recommend this one at all. I thought the blurb sounded good but this one is just not for me.

1.0 von 5 Sternen Annoying and immature 20. Oktober 2014
Von morehumanthanhuman - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
This book annoyed me so much. Beyond the ultra-tedious plot (two people like each other, but are kept apart by flimsy contrivances), the supporting characters are ultra-thin paper dolls who live to validate the female main and the love story is like reading about a Ken doll falling in love with a twelve-year-old.

Baya (what kind of name is that?) is eager to get to college so that she can finally do whatever it is she didn't do in high school? Why didn't she? Well, we can't possibly know that. She arrives at college as a blank slate, no romantic history, no significant friendships. She just wants to reunite with her brother, that's why she chose this particular college far from home. She's so dumb that she can't even tell when her tube top is pulled down and exposing herself, so she flashes a campus hottie who (conveniently enough) is her brother's roommate. Cole (the brother) and Bryson (the hottie) have dedicated themselves to sleeping with every woman who will have them. When Bryson realizes that he likes Baya, Cole is wary of his friend's history and forbids them to see each other.

And instead of handling it like adults, they attempt to acquiesce to his demand.

Complicating matters is that Baya's roommate has no understanding of sexual boundaries and engages in frequent public sex in their dorm room. Apparently this school has no system to handle roommate disputes or inappropriate behavior, so Baya must move in to her brother's apartment and sleep on his couch. This doesn't help her deal with her attraction to Bryson (but it really should -- there's a scene where she hugs him just after he has been with another woman and she notices that he reeks of sex . . . and this turns her on?). Baya really lacks any sexual history, but this doesn't stop her from thinking in lewd terms constantly. Her internal monologues are immature and her understanding of her sexuality is fixated on a specific organ. Her vagina is always pulsating, throbbing against her thighs, even attempting to "wave in" Bryson (what that would look like, I have no idea). Her internal barriers against acknowledging her own desires force her to split herself into separate entities -- there is her rogue vagina (or, if you will, her "penis pocket") and then there is the rest of Baya.

Her significant hang-ups about sex infect her interactions with others, specifically her relationship with her roommate. Cole and Bryson are very sexually active -- they're competitive over numbers of different partners to the extent of carving actual notches in the door frame of their bedrooms. Yet this is never allowed to be the sum total of their personality. But women who practice the same level of sexual engagement are not allowed this level of humanity in Baya's world. Her roommate is dehumanized, her body carved into parts ("Thing One" and "Thing Two"). Baya actually thinks of her as a vector of disease, yet her brother and love interest (both of whom have had sex with her) are presented neutrally. The hostility to female sexuality in this book is profound. There is redemption for Cole and Bryson. Cole will be rehabilitated in a future book and his sexuality is never the sum total of his personality. Bryson's love for Baya effectively erases his sexual history (and besides, he was just dealing with pain). But it's unclear what redemption is possible for women in Moore's world.

Baya's friends are about as authentic as everything else in the book. They exist mainly to laugh hysterically when she disparages her roommate and tell her how beautiful she is. They're cheerleaders and I'm sure they will be appropriately individualized when they have their chance at love (or at least a throbbing vagina) in future installments of this series.

There are better NA romances out there, books that don't exude a miasma of misogyny, books that don't force you to deal with stunted sexuality, books that don't involve a melodramatic and frankly unbelievable plot twist at the end. From other reviews, I gather this may not be the author's best work. As for me, this is the first book I've read by the author and I'd be very cautious about picking up another one.

2.0 von 5 Sternen Not as titillating as you would think at 3 AM. 14. Oktober 2013
Von The Suburban Eclectic - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Baya Brighton is off to college. Here's to new beginnings: new school, new friends and new experiences. 3:AM Kisses chronicles the campus life and if it was anything like mine, get the ibuprofen ready and hold ya hair back. Actually, Baya is a good girl but she doesn't want to stay that way for long, if you know what I mean. She meets Bryson on her fist day on campus and develops an instant crush. Bryson is pretty smitten too, but Baya is his best friend's little sister and is swathed in do not disturb pixie dust. But chemistry can't be denied and when Baya and Bryson get together sparks fly.
Wardrobe malfunctions are just not for Mardi Gras or half time shows anymore. As far as first meetings go, Baya's flash was a definitive conversation starter and the perfect cute meet. I am a big fan of the snarky and Baya's humor and sarcasm in the opening chapters integrated nicely as exposition. The attraction between the characters is intense and zealous. However, I found there to be a bit of a slow down in the pace and structure halfway through the book. The same crude humor and derision became rather one note and repetitive (there's only so many Thing 1 and Thing 2 jokes I can take). There seemed to be a disconnect between the passionate scenes and the rather juvenile dialogue ("your pants feel awful friendly," and "He's the Everyready penis.") making me think that this was mislabeled as new adult romance; it seemed more youth orientated. There is also a deep dark secret reveal that came across as more of an aside rather than a fully fleshed out arc. The cover and title would suggest a more titillating tale, but all in all it was more tedious.

1.0 von 5 Sternen Couldn't stand the hero or heroine 21. Oktober 2013
Von Aly123 - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

I was excited to read this book, as a college student I love reading books that I feel I can relate to. However the main characters in this book were so awful I couldn't finish it. Baya is actually funny and seems sweet, but then she became this needy, sad girl. I mean she is super attracted to this guy who has a WALL of notches. And after he comes out of his room smelling like sex with another girl and she still wants him? Oh and don't forget her begging and crying for him to kiss her, I don't think so.
Oh and Bryson I was just grossed out by both him and Cole. They are total man ho-s personally I wouldn't want to even be around them, I'd be worried about picking up some kind of STD at the rate they are going through girls, in front of Cole's sister no less! So Bryson says he is super attracted to Baya yet still flaunts his skanky girls around her? What? The writing was good but the characters were just gross to me
