This compilation focuses on Vera's music from 1936 to 1960 although nearly all the tracks are from the fifties. Her wartime songs are here but while the original 1942 recording White cliffs of Dover is here, We'll meet again is a 1953 re-recording. Two other wartime recordings are included - It's a lovely day tomorrow (from 1940) and Be like the kettle and sing (from 1943). Vera's early recordings from the thirties are represented by Up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire, Harbour lights and Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye. The remaining songs are all fifties recordings.
